Hog Roast !
"...One of the things Elias wanted for his wedding was a hog roast. So Dad built a roaster out of an old oil tank, fixed up a rotisserie that took TWO minutes for one revolution and roasted a 138 lbs. hog. Talk about "slow" roasting! When it was all over, ten hours later, the hog had absorbed 30 cans of beer and had been injected with a half a gallon of white wine. It took a hundred and forty pounds of charcoal and oh ,for the flavor! Talk about falling off the bone! Succulent! The roasted hog was such a success at the wedding reception that we've decided to start a tradition in the fall : "The Donker's Labor Day Hog Roast".....
Indiana State University's kitchen needed a roasted hog on a very short notice. Guess who got roast a hog in the middle of winter!
